Part 2: Panel Assembly

(Make 3)

Join the squares into 3 panels.

Panel One & Two: 4 by 2 squares

Panel Three: 4 by 5 squares

Part 3: Sweater Assembly

(Make 1)

Now is time to slip stitch the sweater together to create a vest. Place one 4 x 2 panel on the left and right of the back panel so the wrong side is facing out on both panels.

Slip stitch

Slip stitch up across two squares to make the sides. Then slip stitch across the two squares to make the shoulder seams.

Part 4: Sleeves

(Make 2)

Now it's time to create the sleeves. You will be granny stitching in the round to make the sleeves.

Row 1

Join your yarn to the sleeve opening. Ch 3, dc 2, ch 1. [dc 3, ch 1] x around. Join at the end of the row, then slip stitch (sl st) 3 to get to the next chain space.

Row 2

Continue to granny stitch around. Join at the end of the row, then slip stitch (sl st) 3 to get to the next chain space.

Part 5: Bottom Edge

(Make 1)

Now we can create the bottom edge of the sweater.

Chain

With the right side facing out, go to the bottom right side of the sweater and slip stitch (sl st) join. Chain 5.

Row 1

Single crochet (sc) 4 until you're back at the edge of the sweater. Slip stitch (sl st) 3 up the edge of the sweater.

Row 2

Ch 1. Back loop single crochet (bl sc) 4. Ch 1. Turn.

Row 3

Back loop single crochet (bl sc) 4. Sl st 3 up the sweater.

Row 4

Repeat row 2-3 until you reach the end of the sweater, finishing on the row 2 repeat.

Part 6: Collar Edge

(Make 1)

Now we can create the collar edge of the sweater.

Row 1 - Row 3

Turn your work so the collar is parallel with the crochet hook. Ch 1. Single crochet (sc) around the edge of the collar. Repeat sc for three rows. Fasten off at the end.

Part 7: Button Loops

(Make 4)

We are at the end of creating the sweater.

Loops

Chain (ch 11). Slip stitch (sl st) back down 10 stitches. Fasten off. Insert your hook into the chain to create a loop and sl st directly to the sweater 5'' apart from one another on the left side of the sweater when laid flat facing you. Weave in ends.

Buttons

Sew the four buttons 5 inches apart on the right side of the sweater when it is facing you so the loops are directly across from the buttons.
